How to Practice Proper Self-Isolation

We recommend helpful products in our articles. Read our full disclosure here.

Today, we know that there are several resources you can employ to keep yourself safe in the face of the pandemic. Some of these include:

  • Getting your vaccine shots;
  • Taking booster shots;
  • Avoiding overly crowded areas;
  • Using high-quality sanitizers;
  • Using high quality face or nose masks.

But if despite your best efforts, you run your test (or maybe even a Flowflex kit) and get a positive result, you need to know the necessary steps to take to not only get back on the road to recovery. Also – how to keep everyone in your immediate surroundings safe.

Along these lines, we’ll be touching on a few of the most effective measures you can take to isolate yourself properly if you suspect or already have confirmation that you’ve contracted COVID.

For People Who’ve Not Been Vaccinated

If you’ve not been vaccinated and your self-test kit is showing positive, the first thing you need to do is stay in isolation for at least 5 days. Studies have concluded that this is enough time for the symptoms of the virus to present themselves in individuals who aren’t asymptomatic.

If you don’t feel any worse after five days, this is good, but it isn’t all over yet. You should make sure that you avoid traveling just yet and, when you go out, ensure you wear an ergonomically designed and well-fitted nose mask like the Air Queen Mask.

However, if you do develop symptoms or the symptoms you’ve been feeling get worse, you should quarantine yourself for about 10 days, and see how matters progress before you seek medical attention.

For People Who’ve Been Vaccinated

Sadly, there are reports that it is in fact possible for people who have been fully vaccinated to still contract COVID-19 if they are exposed to it. In this instance, if you do suspect that you have the virus and your self-test kit doesn’t dispel that worry, you need to take certain steps as quickly as possible.

The first of these is to seclude yourself for 10 full days at the minimum and avoid people if you don’t live alone. Also, if those around are likely to have the virus as well, this is all the more reason to take your self-isolation more seriously.

What to do on Isolation

It bears pointing out that, because not only does COVID-19 present some of the symptoms observed, the major priority of the isolation process, outside keeping you from infecting other people, is to confirm that you are indeed dealing with the novel virus.

Interestingly, even if you do have COVID, there’s always a real chance that the virus will leave your system if you follow the right processes during the quarantine period. So, be sure to do things like maintaining the highest level of hygiene, drinking plenty of water, and eating the right foods.

By taking these measures, you’ll be able to bolster your immune system and give it the ability to fight off the effects of the pandemic more successfully.
