DIY Hydrating Face Mask Recipes To Try This Weekend

We recommend helpful products in our articles. Read our full disclosure here.

Face masks are a fantastic invention, with just a few things more relaxing than putting a mask on and chilling on the couch with a glass of wine (or water, if you prefer!).

Face masks deliver instant results, and they leave your skin glowing and fresh in just a few minutes. The market is filled with masks catering to all skin needs, but today I want to share a few DIY recipes for a hydrating face mask that works just as well as store-bought. And they can be whipped up at a fraction of the cost! The best thing is that you can find most of the ingredients in your kitchen.

All these masks have hydrating ingredients to deliver a boost of moisture, and you can choose one according to your skin type. So let’s begin!

DIY Hydrating Face Mask Recipes To Try This Weekend

1. Hydrating Face Mask For Dry Skin

  • Take 1 Avocado, 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, and 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil.
  • Blend the ingredients in a food processor until smooth, and then apply to the face.
  • Leave the mask on for 20 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

This incredible mask is packed with hydrating ingredients like avocados and olive oil that will moisturize your dry skin and nourish it deeply. Yogurt is a marvelous ingredient, and it is a natural source of lactic acid that gently exfoliates the skin, brightens the complexion, and helps to pack in moisture.

This gorgeous hydrating face mask is also ideal if you suffer from dehydrated, patchy skin, and you will notice that your skin is instantly soft and plumper!

2. Hydrating Face Mask For Oily and Acne-prone Skin

  • Mix 4 tablespoons of oatmeal with half a cup of hot water and let it soften for a few minutes.
  • Once most of the water has been absorbed, add 2 tablespoons of yogurt, 2 tablespoons of egg whites, and a few drops of honey.
  • Apply a thin layer using a brush and let dry for 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Oatmeal is excellent for oily skin, thanks to its ability to nourish and soothe the skin while absorbing excess oils. The result? Your skin is calm, hydrated, but not greasy. Yogurt is a great exfoliating agent, and honey has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties to reduce blemishes and acne too.

3. Hydrating Face Mask For Rough skin

  • To whip up a hydrating face mask for rough, irritated skin, start by peeling a cucumber and blending it in a food processer.
  • Add 2 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 tablespoon brown sugar to the cucumber and mix till well combined.
  • Leave it on the face for 15 minutes and then rinse off.

This hydrating face mask uses brown sugar, which exfoliates the skin and removes dead skin cells to make the skin smooth and soft. Honey has soothing properties to improve the texture of the skin, and the milk profoundly nourishes the skin + brightens the complexion. I like to add cucumber to this mask because it has cooling properties that reduce puffiness, and it refreshes the skin like my favorite spa treatment!

3. Hydrating Face Mask For Very Dehydrated skin

  • Measure 1 tablespoon of shea butter, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and a few drops of pure Aloe Vera gel in a bowl, and mix till combined.
  • Spread it evenly on the face, but focus on the dry patches and redness the most.
  • Rinse with warm water after 15 minutes.

This hydrating face mask rejuvenates all skin types and deeply hydrates so that your skin is left dewy and supple. The dry winters or scorching summer sun can both leave all skin types dry and dehydrated… And this is my Holy Grail of DIY face masks for days where my skin needs a lot of love!

Coconut oil is a rich moisturizer that helps to restore the skin texture and increases elasticity. Shea butter is a gold mine for dehydrated skin, as it hydrates the deeper layers of skin and leaves your skin so soft that you won’t be able to stop feeling it! The Aloe Vera is like a cherry on the top, as it deeply moisturizes, evens out the complexion, and reduces any redness.

I hope you will treat yourself with one of these elegant hydrating face masks when you find some time, and everyone will notice how gorgeous and radiant your skin is.
